The beginning of the breed was rather bloody; however, nowadays these dogs became very friendly, loveable and gentle family companions. These dogs adore their families and being very devoted to their owners, dogs of this breed make wonderful guardians and protectors. Dogs of this breed usually get along well with other household animals. However males of the breed may display aggression toward dogs of other breeds. Young dogs of this breed are very active and full of energy. Adult dogs are rather calm and prefer laying on the sofa rather than running in the yard.
